Happy birthday, to me.

No, all of these cards are not for me. These are for those who serve(d) in the United States military from Boot Barn. A couple of years ago, they donated socks to all of the branches of the military and my partner was a point of contact for a sector. They still had the box of thank you cards that had been attached to the socks laying around and my partner decided it was time to dispose of them. So, he brought them home to throw away.

What does this have to do with my birthday?

First of all, it was my birthday yesterday. But it became my duty to dispose of them and before I did, I literally read each and every card, because I felt that the effort made by these people needed to be appreciated. It was an unexpected surprise on my birthday, and it was fun to read them.

Most of the cards just said something along the lines of: thank you for your service. However, there were a handful of really nice messages and even a few with some creativity!
