Today was a beautiful day! Originally forecast'd to be cold, it was 68 degrees, sunny, and wonderful! I loved and appreciated it. I spent some time, though brief, in my back yard. It would have been the perfect day to go for a walk, but it wasn't in my "hand" as they say in card-playing.
Today, for me, was the first day of any sort of normalcy. It almost felt like a regular-old Sunday. My mind seems to be adjusting to my new lifestyle (whether it be temporarily short or for long term). I had this mindset all day long that I had to get everything in order so that I could "work" tomorrow. I had decided Saturday evening that come Monday I need to get back to working towards my goals to make my mark in humanitarian services and make this field my career. COVID-19 won't hold us hostage forever and I have to keep working towards my goals so that I can do what I really want for a living. With that being said, it felt like another "day off" from my day job and so I was hustling to run errands, cook, clean, and prepare for what I need to do Monday.
The shelves at Safeway seem to remain bare for the most part. There was a bit more stock in store than in the past week, but essentials and common goods are predominately out of stock. We attempted to get eggs today, but they were gone. A worker said we could try tomorrow, but that they would be probably be soldout by 10am. Mostly what remains on the shelves are "luxury items" like imported foods and spices, as well as the more expensive versions of things like organic and/or non-processed, non-GMO foods.
Safeway self-serve items remain closed off, as due a lot of public services. Downtown was still dead today when I drove through. I noticed the popular shopping center I go to downtown was decently filled for Ranch 99 (Asian market). It did seem, like in general, more people were out today in the evening than before. I attempted to get ShareTea, because they are still open, but the line was wrapped around inside and clearly had more than 10 people in there, which goes against public policy currently. I wasn't about to get fined or catch Coronavirus. When I went into PetSmart today they had tape on the floor to the registers which we were to follow while we were in line for public distancing. While it seems like more people are taking this seriously, it also seems like a lot of people are just over it all and, well, old habits are hard to break; or in this case: old lifestyles.
It's late. I don't think I will workout, as my legs are still in pain from yesterday. I think I'll even skip yoga. I did smoke weed last night, which was relaxing. I woke up feeling the best I've felt in months!
Notes Today:
